The secondary insurance market has been growing rapidly since 1989 and has yet to reach its projected potential. Recent analysis by the Wharton School of Business estimates that the life settlement market will reach $160 billion within the next 10 years. AAM has been involved in the market since it was a less than $100 million of annual investment. Currently there is approximately $5 billion of annual investment in the emerging US life settlement market.
As demand increases, investors will require the services of life settlement investment managers, such as AAM, that are independent of life settlement brokers to maximize returns though a value added approach.
AAM will focus investment on the US market as it is the only market developed at this time. Canada, Asia, Europe, South America and the tax haven countries (Caribbean and others) are expected to be future market opportunities.
